That’s why we’re thrilled to share some exciting news: our Stockton nursery has become the first in Teesside to achieve not one, but two Investors in People (IIP) awards – for both People and Wellbeing, at Silver level no less!
What does Investors in People means to you and your child?
So what does IIP mean to you as a parent? And why is this such an important milestone for your child’s nursery? Let’s take a look in our latest blog.
Happy staff = happy children
The IIP accreditation is all about how organisations support, develop and value their people. The fact that our independent assessor recognised our strong leadership, positive culture, and commitment to staff wellbeing shows that our team feels supported and empowered. And when our staff feel happy, valued and confident, they can give the very best care to your children every single day. A calm, consistent and nurturing team makes all the difference to how children settle, play and learn.
A team that keeps growing and improving
One of the IIP assessor’s key findings was that “virtually everyone felt their career prospects had improved as a result of joining The Montessori People.” That’s something we’re incredibly proud of. It means our practitioners and teachers are continuously learning, developing and refining their skills — from early years education and communication techniques to wellbeing and leadership. In short, the people caring for your children are always stretching themselves and learning how to do their jobs even better.
A nursery that cares for its community
The IIP assessment also praised our community involvement and the way we empower our staff to make a difference. Whether it’s family events, local partnerships, or community projects, we see childcare as more than just what happens inside our walls — it’s about building strong, supportive connections that benefit everyone.
A focus on wellbeing for all
We know that when our team’s wellbeing is supported, it creates a warm and stable atmosphere for children. Our Investors in Wellbeing award recognises the steps we take to care for our staff’s physical and mental health — through open communication, flexible support and a culture of kindness. That same care and attention flows naturally into how we look after every child in our setting.
Always striving to be the best
Our Managing Director, Michelle Tudor, sums it up perfectly: “Our staff are our biggest asset. We want each person to fulfil their potential by leveraging their strengths. By making sure everyone feels valued and supported, we can find their individual superpower. “We’re already setting our sights on the IIP Gold Award, because continuous improvement is at the heart of everything we do — for our team, for your children and for you.”
